About The Position

The Lead Teacher is responsible for following the provided curriculum, delivering, and overseeing classroom instruction while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students with disabilities. This role requires strong leadership, adaptability, and a passion for supporting diverse learning needs.

Requirements

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Prior teaching experience, particularly in an inclusive or special education setting.
  • Strong leadership, instructional expertise, adaptability, and a commitment to student growth.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs to assist students with mobility and classroom needs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and actively engage with students throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Implement provided lesson plans that align with individualized student needs and curriculum standards.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
  • Lead classroom management efforts, ensuring a structured and positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with assistant teachers, support staff, and therapists to facilitate student success.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to families and school leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and behavioral observations.
  • Advocate for student needs and ensure compliance with educational and disability-related policies.
  • Participate in professional development to continuously enhance instructional methods.
