About The Position

As an Educator, you will use your knowledge of child development, curriculum, Judaism, and/or the community. You are responsible for monitoring the development and learning of the children, and for communicating this information to parents and directors.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Education relating to care for children under the age of 10.
• Strong oral communication skills.
• Ability to relate to young children and adults.
• Ability to carry out assigned tasks, accepting supervision and acting independently as needed.
• Judaic knowledge or willingness to learn.
• Ability to recognize safety hazards and protect children from harm.
• Meet background check and health requirements.
• Good character and reputation.
• Willingness to acquire Child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong communication skills, including oral, reading, and writing.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of the growth and development of young children and ability to use this information in the classroom.
• Ability to act independently in the classroom setting.
• Ability and willingness to work with a team.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field from an accredited college or university, or CDA.
• One year or more of programmatic experience in a group setting with children.
• Willingness to mentor colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor children’s development and learning.
• Communicate information about children’s development and learning to parents and directors.
