About The Position

Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking an Industry Technical Consultant in their Food & Beverage division. This role involves implementing new technology, troubleshooting client problems, training technical sales representatives, and recommending process treatment programs. The consultant will research market and product application opportunities, assist in developing marketing plans, and support sales representatives in technical sales calls and presentations. The role is remote, requires candidates to reside near a major airport, and covers the Northeast and Southeastern US, targeting the Food & Beverage industry. Significant overnight travel is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have Wastewater experience
  • 10+ years of successful technical implementation, production management, process engineering, technical sales, or field sales support experience
  • 50% or more overnight travel required
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
  • Self-motivated, proactive, result-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction.
  • Strong membrane experiences, to include equipment expertise, program optimization, and demonstrated ability to understand a total plant approach to water.
  • Recognized as an expert in industry or technology focus
  • Excellent team orientation, proactivity and sense of urgency in supporting business growth and market leadership through differentiated technology and expertise
  • Strong communication skills
  • Have knowledge of, have led, or participated in Total Plant Assessments

Responsibilities

  • Assists sales representatives and Corporate Account Managers in making industry-specific technical/application related sales calls and presentations in specific product and market applications
  • Researches, identifies, and defines market and product application opportunities within a specific industry, for specific customers or groups of customers
  • Develops plans in conjunction with the field and other SBU members to capture identified sales opportunities
  • Conducts on-site audits to assess and solve customer problems or meet customer requirements
  • Provides on-the-job product and sales training as appropriate and identifies training and reference materials needed for field sales training programs
  • Work with marketing and sales stakeholders to identify new product and program applications and appropriate training
  • Coach individuals in the organization on processes, applications, technologies, and value documentation
