About The Position

The Industry Market Manager (Sub-Industry) is responsible for optimizing GP margin in the assigned Sub-Industry/ Application by driving category management and Market for industry-specific primary basket products within regions. They define the (customer-specific) product baskets and the regional product/ service portfolio based on thorough and up to date market know how. Further, they are responsible for managing suppliers and sourcing products and provides guidance regarding pricing and margin management to the local sales management and sales force.

Requirements

  • University degree in relevant field.
  • Previous work experience (3-5 years) in specialty chemical (distribution) - e.g., distributor, manufacturer.
  • Strong product and market knowledge of respective Industry/ Application

Responsibilities

  • Define industry-specific primary product baskets within region.
  • Define regional product/ service portfolio.
  • Develop customer specific baskets/solution configurations.
  • Work together with Product Management in Brenntag Essentials, in order to discuss product sourcing responsibilities, avoid overlaps and derive potential cross-selling initiatives.
  • Build value adding supplier relationships (incl. supplier selection.
  • Manage supplier relationships, sourcing products and engaging in business reviews.
  • Engage with Purchasing/ Procurement for the execution of sourcing contracts and ordering.
  • Manage new product introductions and steer product compliance.
  • Update sales force on new products (incl. trainings/ briefings).
  • Develop thorough market know-how to derive strategies for assigned industry/ application - in line with Global industry Market management strategy.
  • Identify trends and new opportunities within sub-industry/ application that hold business potential
  • Define focus areas/areas for growth for prioritization.
  • Develop Market and business positioning campaigns and push them into the sales organization.
  • Define the themes, priorities and focus areas for exhibitions and participate in regional trade fair activities.
  • Be mindful to potential supplier/ product conflicts and align with colleagues as required.
  • Derive pricing input from market knowledge and supplier information and define (value based) pricing guidelines.
  • Inform Sales management/ sales force about price changes.
  • Maintain prices in system.
  • Control product costs and optimize GP margins.
