Job Summary: Operating under general supervision, the Industrial Worker assumes responsibility for executing a wide range of tasks integral to the production of sheet metal products across various departments, including chimney fabrication, general fabrication, and stainless-steel fabrication.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Metal fabrication, welding, or assembly experience preferred.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to organize tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to precision and accuracy in all aspects of work, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Highly Motivated: Self-driven and proactive with a strong work ethic, consistently striving for excellence and demonstrating initiative in completing tasks.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision, making sound decisions, and taking ownership of responsibilities to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during a regular workday.
  • Proficiency in using arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects with precision.
  • Capability to climb up and down ladders safely.
  • Capacity to work while in stooped, kneeling, or crouched positions as necessary to perform tasks.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Capacity to lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Proficiency in operating a pallet jack and pulling loads weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Exposure to various environmental factors commonly found in a manufacturing setting, including dirt, heat, noise, odors, vibration, dust, cold, and fumes.

Responsibilities

  • Select the appropriate type of sheet metal based on project specifications and requirements.
  • Accurately measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets using precision tools.
  • Cut sheet metal by hand or operate power shears with precision to achieve desired shapes and sizes.
  • Drill precise holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
  • Fasten seams or joints using various techniques such as welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering, maintaining structural integrity and durability.
  • Operate fabricating machines including shears, brakes, and presses, utilizing forming rolls to cut, bend, block, form, or straighten materials as needed.
  • Utilize scribers, dividers, and squares to accurately mark dimensions on material surfaces.
  • Assemble, install, and align dies in press according to specifications, ensuring precise positioning and functionality.
  • Position workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or dies, ensuring proper alignment and secure placement.
  • Monitor press operations closely, starting and observing machines to detect any misalignment or malfunctions, and performing basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and upkeep of fabrication machinery, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
  • Inspect assembled components and installations for conformance to specifications, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, promoting efficiency and safety in the workplace.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety standards and advocate safe work practices to coworkers, fostering a culture of workplace safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
