About The Position

Toshiba International Corporation is seeking a technically driven Industrial Variable Frequency Drives Field Service Technician / Engineer who enjoys solving problems where they happen: at the customer site. This is a highly hands-on, travel-intensive position for someone who wants to build deep expertise in variable frequency drives (VFDs), industrial power electronics, motor control, and electrical systems. You'll travel to customer locations to troubleshoot equipment, diagnose technical issues, perform repairs, and support startup and commissioning activities. With approximately 80–90% domestic and international travel, this is not a traditional desk engineering position. You'll spend much of your time in the field working directly with industrial equipment and customers. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys travel, independence, technical challenges, and seeing different applications and facilities rather than working in the same environment every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Associate degree or technical degree in electrical/electronic technology or a related discipline, or Relevant military electrical or power-system technical training.
  • 0–4 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial power electronics or related electrical equipment.
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs)/adjustable speed drives is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with AC induction motors or related industrial motor-control equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply technical information while diagnosing equipment issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in customer-facing technical situations.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while working in the field.
  • Early-career candidates with strong electrical fundamentals and the desire to develop advanced industrial troubleshooting skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Approximately 80–90% domestic and international travel is required.
  • Candidates should be comfortable traveling extensively, independently navigating customer sites, and working in different industrial environments.
