About The Position

OPmobility is hiring an Industrial Supply Chain Excellence Engineer to advance supply chain and internal-flow performance across its plants. The role promotes a strong safety culture and develops standards, solutions, and transformation plans for storage, automated transport, IT tools, and material-handling organization. The engineer supports plants through planning, design, and execution of internal-flow projects, contributes strategic direction during complex quotation phases, and shares expertise with the Supply Chain Community through training and benchmarking. The position is based at the Fairfax Site in Kansas City and is described as long-term at-will.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, including Kaizen, 5S, and VSM.
Knowledge of process mapping and flow optimization.
Supply chain and logistics knowledge, especially internal flows, material handling, and inventory management, including SAP, MRP, and WMS.
Data analysis and problem-solving skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
Project management skills.
Inventory management experience.
Supply chain management experience.
Experience managing inventory budgets and tracking KPIs.
Knowledge or experience with SIOP (Sales Inventory & Operational Planning).
10+ years of experience in automotive supply chain operations, especially internal flows; external-flow experience is also appreciated.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing.

Foreign trade degree or applied knowledge.
Experience with external supply chain flows.

Responsibilities

Promote a safety culture and ensure safety policies are understood and respected.
Organize internal and external benchmarking to identify best practices and technological innovation.
Design and develop solutions for storage means, including hanging shopstock, WIP trolleys, racks, transtockers, and warehouses.
Design and develop automated transport solutions, including tow AGVs, lift AGVs, and forklift AGVs.
Design and develop IT tools such as WMS, material call, and E-Kanban.
Design and develop material-handling organization, including kitting and direct feeding.
Create and update internal-flow engineering standards for use in Operations and Engineering.
Deliver training and share best practices with the Supply Chain Community.
Lead VSM/MIFD workshops in plants and develop strategic plans for plant-layout and flow transformation to improve performance and prepare for future projects.
Provide strategic inputs and direction during complex quotation phases.
Provide strategic inputs and direction to plants during planning, design, and execution of internal-flow projects.
