About The Position

AFC Materials Group is seeking an Industrial Sewing Operator to fabricate mesh belting and other custom parts to order using industrial sewing machines. Working from job packets with minimal supervision, the operator verifies materials, selects the appropriate sewing operation, sews products to specification, and checks work for quality. The role involves safely handling wide, long, and heavy materials and keeping the work area, machines, tools, and equipment clean and maintained.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push, pull, and feed wide and long material.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to produce mesh or solid belting and related products to specification.
• Select the correct sewing operation for each job, applying knowledge of single- and double-needle machines and stitch methods.
• Fabricate parts and products beyond belting as orders require.
• Safely and accurately handle, position, and feed wide and long materials through the machine.
• Read job orders and packets and carry out work independently with minimal supervision.
• Verify that materials received match the job packet before production begins.
• Confirm that components applied to cut belts are correct for the order.
• Inspect work for accuracy and quality throughout each job.
• Help investigate and resolve quality issues and returned products.
• Clean and maintain the work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Monitor stocked material levels and report when supplies run low.
