About The Position

East Penn Mfg. is currently seeking a Battery Service Technician for the Fleetwood Branch. Technician will communicate and work with maintenance managers, maintenance mechanics, electric truck mechanics, electricians, contractors, and East Penn Manufacturing's salespeople.

Requirements

• Electrical background preferred
• Basic Reading
• Basic Math (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying)
• Basic Computer Skills, Word, Personal Computer (PC)
• Ability to evaluate, Does troubleshooting and provides potential solutions for problems and communicate ideas
• Ability to resolve discrepancies
• Hand Tools, Power Tools
• Awareness of pneumatics
• Basic reading of Schematics
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot startings and stopages of machinery
• Knowledge of Rigging and lifting
• Oxy‑Acetylene Torch
• Basic understading of transformers and contactors
• Minor Electrical skills
• Basic knowledge of 240V three phase
• Basic knowledge of 480V three phase
• Basic understading of AC and DC electricity
• Basic Electrical skills
• Basic Electronic skills
• Ability to identify and test basic electronic component such as diodes, capacitors, and resistors
• Ability to remove and install printed circuit boards
• Understanding the basic theory of rectification
• Understanding the basic layout of a rectifier
• Knowledge of hydraulic operation
• Good Telephone Skills
• Ability to communicate with Co‑workers
• Has a DOT Medical Qualification Card

Responsibilities

• Dealing with customer complaints and down equipment.
• Travels to customer locations.
• Evaluates battery and charging equipment.
• Must be able to make on‑site repairs of batteries and chargers.
• Must be able to create and maintain documents explaining customer's fleet by type, amp hour, repairs, recommendations, billing, and repairs.
• Maintains regular attendance.
• Ability to work mandatory over time.
• Performs other duties as requested.
• Responsible for producing a high quality product.
• Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.
• These tasks are considered essential elements of the job.
