About The Position

The Industrial Security Specialist Staff manages day-to-day security operations for cleared programs and facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable government requirements. This role supports personnel/physical/technical/AIS security processes and serves as a key security liaison to internal customers. This role will be required to work independently and as part of a larger security team that resides in San Diego.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site in a cleared facility environment.
  • 7+ years of progressive security experience supporting U.S. Government customers.
  • Demonstrated experience operating a cleared security program and maintaining compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and related government security requirements.
  • Knowledge of ICDs and SCIF/closed-area standards (including ICD 705 concepts).
  • Hands-on experience with personnel security processes and government security systems (e.g., DISS, NISS, NBIS, e-Apps or equivalents).
  • Hands-on experience with ProWatch – access control system.
  • Experience conducting audits/inspections and managing findings, corrective actions, and continuous compliance activities.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, lead complex security initiatives and maintain frequent communication with management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including incident reporting, policy/SOP/SPP/CONOPS writing, and customer/government engagement.
  • Working knowledge with access control software programs such as ProWatch

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management improvements to the security program across personnel, physical, technical, and information systems security for cleared operations.
  • Ensure compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), applicable Intelligence Community Directives (e.g., ICD 705), and cognizant security agency guidance.
  • Coordinate government audits/inspections and self-inspections; track findings, implement corrective actions, and sustain an inspection-ready posture.
  • Collaborate with San Diego Security POCs for tasks related to personnel security lifecycle activities (eligibility, indoctrination, debriefing, access/badging, visit/access control) and maintain records in government systems (e.g., DISS, NISS, NBIS, e-Apps).
  • Collaborate with management classified facility buildouts and operations (e.g., SCIF/closed areas), including coordination with stakeholders and accreditation/validation activities.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of security education and awareness programs (e.g., Insider Threat, OPSEC, annual refresher training) and maintain required training records.
  • Investigate and report security incidents, document findings, notifications, and preventive actions for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to scale secure operations, optimize processes, and support organizational growth.
  • Travel to domestic sites to provide security oversight and assist on-site personnel.
  • Able to respond to Security issues 24/7.
  • Ability to change combinations, and process document control transfers (DTO)
  • Manage COMSEC account
