About The Position

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking an Industrial Security Facilities Intern to join their Security and Facilities team. This role will be based in Arlington, VA, Fall River, MA, San Diego, CA, or Mt. Laurel, NJ. The intern will work with the Facility Security Officer and Facilities Manager teams to assist in protecting DOD facilities, personnel, and systems in accordance with Government requirements (32 CFR 117 directives). The position also involves assisting with general facilities-related requests across multiple IDT locations.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program with a major in Business Management, Engineering, Criminal Justice, International Studies or related field.
  • Current college juniors/rising seniors preferred.
  • All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day facilities operations, including office maintenance, supplies, equipment, and workspace readiness.
  • Support facility inspections and help identify maintenance, safety, and housekeeping issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and building management on service requests and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of facilities-related requests, inventory, work orders, and documentation.
  • Help organize office moves, workspace setups, events, and other facilities projects.
  • Provide support with health, safety, security, and emergency-preparedness procedures.
  • Respond to employee facilities requests and help ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming workplace.
  • Assists with scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and preparing meeting materials for both classified and unclassified operations.
  • Provides security support for unclassified and classified operations.
  • Manages receipt and dispatch for incoming and outgoing mail packages.
  • Maintain, track and audit inventory materials associated with contracts, and information systems.
  • Prepare and manage security training and briefings for all employees.
  • Coordinate new employee clearance process.
  • Support the FSO with various compliance assessments.
  • Manage incoming visitor procedures related to company meetings and software demonstrations.
  • Revise and validate process and procedures.
  • Learn and operate the inventory management system.
