About The Position

Develops, and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. Conducts security education classes and security audits. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Final Clearance Required to Start

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience reading and comprehending government regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of the protection measures issued by the government to prevent the unauthorized access of classified information.
  • Familiarity with the control of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) to include but not limited to: Determining marking requirements, Understanding of the encryption/transmission requirements for NNPI, Evaluation of documents/material to determine if they should be classified as NNPI
  • Understanding of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)

Responsibilities

  • Advises the Law Department on safeguarding NNPI solicited pursuant to judicial or administrative proceedings
  • Approves disclosure of NNPI to government entities not directly involved in the NNPP
  • Acts as the primary point of contact with Naval Reactors regarding the security and control of nuclear information
  • Acts the primary point of contact, lead escort and technical resprsentative for all NAVSEA audits
  • Trains employees on the proper handling of NNPI and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance
