About The Position

Join our team as a Quarry Foreperson and take charge of daily operations in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. This is an opportunity to lead, mentor, and drive results in one of our key production sites. You'll be the central point of communication between the Quarry Superintendent and your team, ensuring high standards for safety, quality, and productivity. Work closely with the site Superintendent to coordinate plant production, repairs, and service while contributing directly to the success of our operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, with at least two years of relevant experience or training.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety guidelines and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Team-oriented attitude, ready to support colleagues and supervisors.
  • Flexibility to travel or work away from home as needed.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends, ensuring operational continuity.
  • Commitment to using PPE in all designated areas; required equipment includes face shield, hard-toe safety shoes, and coveralls.
  • Full compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations.
  • Ability to schedule and coordinate production with customers’ needs and expectations.
  • Solid understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in plant production and maintenance.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong comprehension of verbal and written instructions, with excellent communication skills.
  • Skilled in the proper and safe use of equipment and tools.
  • Collaborative, efficient team player.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
  • Capacity for extended periods of sitting as required.
  • Visual acuity (with correction) for close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, in all weather conditions, and in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safe work environment for yourself and your team, adhering to all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
  • Oversee daily production and maintenance activities and proactively schedule major repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and report issues to the Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager to ensure smooth operations.
  • Lead, manage, and schedule personnel, including monitoring attendance and work hours.
  • Train employees in plant and mobile equipment operations, servicing, and minor repairs, fostering skill development throughout your team.
  • Step in for general laboring duties as needed, demonstrating a hands-on leadership approach.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, setting the standard for your team.
  • Adapt to new responsibilities and tasks as assigned, showing flexibility and initiative.
