Requirements

• Five years’ experience as a pump mechanic, including shop repair and the assembly/disassembly of pumps, valves, and other rotating equipment.
• Proficiency in acetylene and electric arc welding.
• Comfortable with power/hand tools and diagnostic equipment; solid knowledge of repair/maintenance methods and materials.
• Millwright mechanic experience or formal technical schooling/trade training, or completion of a multiyear apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of electric motor interfaces and handling.
• High school diploma.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on with grinders, heating/burning torches, drill press, radial drill, balance machine, and precision measuring instruments.
• Experienced in hand-fitting and rotor assembly using die grinders.
• Able to follow OEM service specifications and clear written/verbal instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Journeyman or US military experience.
• Two years in machining and tooling within a machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, evaluate, repair, and reassemble customer machinery: pumps of all types, compressors, and small turbines.
• Perform field assessments and on-site repairs when required.
• Operate shop and material-handling equipment: steam cleaner, sandblaster, bead blaster, cranes/hoists/come-along, forklift, pullers/presses/rams, ovens/heaters, and impact tools.
• Conduct maintenance welding to restore or prepare components.
• Serve as acting lead when the supervisor is away; coordinate tasks and maintain safety and quality.
• Foster effective working relationships across the shop.
