This opportunity is in our American Synthetic Rubber Company (ASRC) Plant in Louisville, KY. Michelin has an immediate opening for an on-site Industrial Project Manager in our high-paced production facility in Louisville, Ky. This manager is responsible for ensuring all projects are delivered on time, and within the stipulated scope and budget. Developing and maintaining detailed plans to monitor and track the progress of each project is critical.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and process/product relationship knowledge.
  • B.S. degree in scientific field and 5+ years’ experience in Project Management (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering fields preferred)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Align project objectives, deliverables, and approach with the sponsor
  • Develop strategic roadmap with timelines in collaboration with the project team
  • Estimate resource needs for each project phase
  • Define team roles, responsibilities, and individual objectives
  • Lead and coordinate complex, multifaceted projects using established project management methodologies
  • Manage project scope, timelines, resources, budgets, and communications
  • Identify issues, propose solutions, and resolve team conflicts
  • Track deliverables and ensure alignment with project goals
  • Assess and secure additional resources as needed
  • Proactively manage risks and crises impacting project success
  • Review and update plant documentation (e.g., Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specs)
  • Evaluate project outcomes for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Prioritize resources across programs and initiatives
  • Ensure activities are not duplicated across projects
  • Lead implementation of systems to monitor progress and resource utilization
  • Establish mechanisms to evaluate project outcomes
  • Oversee coordination across related projects as needed
  • Provide regular project updates to key partners
  • Define and communicate success criteria throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and implement a change management plan
  • Ensure availability of appropriate training and support
  • Communicate project opportunities and status through formal presentations and informal updates
