About The Position

Arcadis' Industrial Water Treatment team is seeking a Process Wastewater Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join our team in North Carolina. In this role, you will support the technical delivery of complex engineering projects through the application of knowledge and expertise in the field of industrial wastewater engineering. As part of the team, you will have an opportunity to function as a key member on local and national industrial wastewater projects. Responsibilities include applying a range of processes and technologies, such as physical and chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization. The role involves receiving technical mentoring and guidance from a principal process engineer or subject matter expert, as well as delegating engineering or scientific calculations and drawings to mid-level and junior staff. The process engineer will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions. Additionally, the position supports project implementation from the study phase through design, construction, startup and commissioning, and the operation and maintenance of treatment systems. The ideal candidate will possess a very strong understanding of different types of industrial wastewater treatment systems, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience working within a large industrial setting is preferred. The candidate should be adept at capital as well as operation and maintenance cost estimation, project scheduling, and work planning. Demonstrated ability to manage and successfully deliver industrial water projects is required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
7+ years of process engineering or industrial wastewater experience.

Nice To Haves

NC PE license or ability to obtain one via reciprocity shortly after joining Arcadis
10+ years of experience.
Experience working within a large industrial setting is preferred.
Adept at capital as well as operation and maintenance cost estimation, project scheduling, and work planning.
Demonstrated ability to manage and successfully deliver industrial water projects is required.
Very strong understanding of different types of industrial wastewater treatment systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead preparation of detailed engineering calculations & analysis
Complete design tasks within budget and on schedule
Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates and other project documentation
Support the work of others and mentor junior-level engineers & design/drafting technical staff
Work directly, when assigned, with clients to determine needs and provide solutions
Maintain compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards
