About The Position

The Industrial Painter will use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally finish interior and exterior surfaces of blast-resistant and other industrial, modular buildings and their parts. As an Industrial Painter, you will provide consistent and quality work in support of Armoda’s goal of delivering customers a quality product on time.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pass respirator fit test.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of formal training program.
  • Experience with: International paints, three coat systems, Inter zinc 52, Inter zone intermediate, Inter zone 990, 990HS, 990V Standard, Polyurethane paints, Carboline DTM Polyurea Truck coatings, and Water based enamels.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction field, including skills in either carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
  • Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Measures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.
  • Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.
  • Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.
  • Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.
  • Tracks daily usage of paints, thinners, mek, and other solvents.
  • Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
  • Builds scaffolding, climbs ladders, and uses safety harness according to safety regulations.
  • Cross-trains and uses additional trade skills in multiple stages of the manufacturing process as assigned.
  • Follows established safety and security rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean area and environment.
