About The Position

Wastequip is hiring an Industrial Painter to support its new steel manufacturing location in Salisbury, North Carolina. The role involves using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment to spray machines, manufactured products, or work areas with protective or decorative coatings such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer. The position pays $22.78 per hour.

Requirements

• Experience using an airless paint finishing system.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery, and/or manufactured products.
• Experience using paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.

• Preferred experience in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean grease and dirt from products.
• Apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce the desired color.
• Pour coating liquid into a spray container and connect the spray gun to an air hose.
• Adjust sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate spray width and pressure.
• Direct spray onto work surfaces to apply a primer or finish coat.
• Coat areas inaccessible to a hand sprayer with a brush.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heat and spray wax onto products after they are tested.
• Remove rust from metal using acid, a wire brush, or steel wool.
