About The Position

Wastequip is hiring an Industrial Painter to support its new steel manufacturing location in Salisbury, North Carolina. The role involves using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment to apply protective or decorative coatings to machines, manufactured products, or work areas. Coatings may include paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer. The stated pay rate is $22.78.

Requirements

• Experience using an airless paint finishing system.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery, and/or manufactured products.
• Experience using paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.

Responsibilities

• Clean grease and dirt from products.
• Apply masking tape to parts and areas that should not be coated.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce the desired color.
• Pour coating liquid into the spray container and connect the spray gun to an air hose.
• Adjust sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate spray width and pressure.
• Apply primer or finish coat by directing the spray onto the work surface.
• Use a brush to coat areas inaccessible to the hand sprayer.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heat and spray wax onto products after they are tested.
• Remove rust from metal using acid, a wire brush, or steel wool.
