About The Position

Storch Products Company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our Production Team. Candidates should have experience painting equipment or automobiles using sprayers and a paint booth. The Painter will be responsible for painting manufactured products, performing surface preparation, and ensuring high-quality finishes that meet company and customer standards. This role plays a critical part in producing durable, professional-looking products that represent the Storch brand. Approximately 60% of the job hours are spent on painting production (paint-prep, painting, shipping prep). 40% of the job hours are focused on assembly or special projects within the shop. As production volume ramps up, the percentage of paint hours increases.

Requirements

  • Compliance with Storch’s drug-free workplace policy (no use of illegal drugs or marijuana, even recreationally; subject to pre-employment and random screenings).
  • 1-2 years of previous industrial or manufacturing painting experience preferred (spray painting experience strongly desired).
  • Knowledge of paint prep techniques, surface preparation, and finishing standards.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, drawings, and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare manufactured products for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primer.
  • Apply paint and coatings to products using spray guns, brushes, or rollers, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications.
  • Inspect painted products for quality, finish, and durability, making touch-ups or corrections as needed.
  • Follow proper mixing, thinning, and application techniques for paints and coatings.
  • Maintain and clean painting equipment, spray booths, and work areas.
  • Safely handle and store paints, solvents, and other materials in compliance with safety standards.
  • Work with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements to increase quality and reduce waste.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment including building custom skids, applying stickers, miscellaneous post paint assembly functions.
