About The Position

The Industrial Painter will be responsible for meeting project requirements and applicable standards, optimizing manpower/resources, and reducing paint losses. This role involves respecting coating application procedures, ensuring the identification of customer-supplied products is maintained, and adhering to good practice codes for safe coating application in compliance with Company procedures. The painter will also be responsible for keeping the work area clean and safe, observing occupational health and safety rules, painting, masking, and touching up steel parts according to shop drawings, mixing coatings and/or paint, selecting and adjusting spraying equipment pressure, and using lifting equipment such as hoists or overhead cranes. Any other related tasks may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Attestation of Vocational Studies (A.V.S.) in industrial painting AND/OR Painter - apprentice grade: 2,000 hours worked as a painter - helper grade, or Diploma of Vocational Studies (D.V.S.) in industrial painting
  • Painter - helper grade: Secondary school diploma (D.E.S.) with or without A.E.P. in industrial painting and relevant experience
  • French language spoken
  • Knowledge of best practices for loading materials in compliance with occupational health and safety principles
  • Pneumatic controls and airless paint pumps
  • Knowledge of coating equipment
  • Teamwork, adaptability and initiative
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of SSPC standards

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with “good practice” codes regarding the safe application of coatings, and in compliance with Company procedures

  • Paint, mask and/or touch up steel parts according to shop drawings
  • Mix coatings and/or paint for steel parts
  • Select and adjust pressure of spraying equipment
  • Use lifting equipment such as hoists or overhead cranes
  • Any other related task
