Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to prioritize jobs.
  • Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Mechanical background
  • Ability to read basic blueprints.
  • Able to read a tape measure and calipers
  • Prior industrial painting experience is a must
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • CARC painting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deburr, wash, and prepare all cylinders and components for paint
  • Paint all cylinders with sprayer with various types of coatings: primers, epoxy paint, CARC paint
  • Prepare cylinders for painting by removing old paint, rust, grease, dirt and other debris.
  • Mask and protect parts that are not to be painted
  • Mix paint according to manufacturer’s specifications
  • Inspect painted cylinders for quality of workmanship, noting and runs, sags, and unpainted areas and corrects as needed
  • Operate all equipment in a safe manner in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain and wears all PPE in accordance with company policies
  • Comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management immediately
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop clean and organized
  • Other duties as assigned.
