Industrial Painter (3rd Shift) - Oertel Metal Works
About The Position
Oertel Metal Works is seeking an Industrial Painter for its finishing team in Davenport, Iowa. The Painter will be responsible for preparing and painting fabricated metal products according to customer specifications and Oertel's quality standards. This role involves the entire finishing process, from surface preparation and coating application to touch-ups and packaging for shipment. Daily tasks include grinding, sanding, cleaning, masking parts, mixing paints, applying coatings with industrial spray equipment, maintaining equipment, staging materials, and ensuring a clean and safe work area.
Requirements
- Previous experience with liquid coatings
- Experience preparing surfaces through cleaning, masking, sanding or grinding
- Ability to accurately mix and apply paints and coatings
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to follow customer specifications, work instructions and established processes
- Comfortable working with hand tools, pneumatic equipment, industrial spray guns and chemical products
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team member
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to become fork truck certified
