About The Position

Aspen is seeking an Industrial Painter – Team Lead for their afternoon shift. This role involves leading a team of industrial painters, ensuring quality and productivity, and mentoring team members. The position requires a hands-on approach to painting, surface preparation, and maintaining equipment and work areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial coatings and a commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

• Experience in industrial painting, manufacturing, or heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of industrial coatings, primers, paint systems, and surface preparation.
• Experience operating airless or conventional spray equipment.
• Strong understanding of quality control and production deadlines.
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE.
• Ability to read work orders and production schedules.
• A positive attitude and a desire to help others succeed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
• Experience painting trailers, heavy equipment, or structural steel.
• Knowledge of epoxy, polyurethane, and specialty industrial coatings.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of industrial painters.
• Assign daily work and keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
• Prepare trailers, components, and equipment for painting through cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface preparation.
• Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
• Apply industrial coatings using spray equipment while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
• Inspect completed work to ensure every finish meets company and customer expectations.
• Train new team members on proper painting techniques, equipment use, and safe work practices.
• Coordinate with production teams to meet schedules and delivery commitments.
• Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, and work areas in clean, safe operating condition.
• Promote a positive team environment built on accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
