About The Position
This role involves demonstrating knowledge and skills in applying protective coatings to surfaces. The Industrial Painter will be responsible for various tasks related to painting and surface preparation in a maintenance capacity.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum eighteen years old.
- Ability to work well with hands.
- Ability to judge colors.
- Working knowledge of different application techniques.
- Working knowledge of proper care of tools.
- Working knowledge of safe use and handling of paint, solvents, and adhesives.
- Physically able to work for long periods of time with arms raised overhead.
Responsibilities
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with brushes, rollers, and spray machines.
- Prepare surfaces to receive coatings by cleaning dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint and wall coverings, and filling/smoothing cracks and holes.
- Understand the composition of paints and the appropriate types for different materials like plaster, wood, brick, and metal.
- Mix and match paints, requiring a good eye for color.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
- Perform other duties as required.
