About The Position

Apache Workforce is hiring experienced Industrial Painters / Blasters to support surface preparation and protective coating applications in a heavy industrial fabrication environment. This role is responsible for preparing, blasting, and coating steel structures, piping, and fabricated components used in large-scale industrial systems. The Painter/Blaster plays a key role in ensuring equipment and materials meet strict quality and durability standards through proper surface preparation, coating application, and finishing techniques. This is a skilled position requiring experience with industrial coatings, blasting equipment, and spray application systems in a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of industrial painting and/or blasting experience
  • Experience with surface preparation (abrasive blasting, power tools, hand tools)
  • Knowledge of industrial coatings (epoxies, urethanes, zincs, primers)
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and coating specifications
  • Experience with spray equipment (airless, HVLP, conventional systems)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Basic communication skills and ability to follow written instructions

Responsibilities

  • Performing surface preparation on steel structures, piping, and fabricated components
  • Operating blasting equipment, spray guns, and coating systems
  • Cleaning, masking, and preparing surfaces prior to coating application
  • Mixing, matching, and preparing paints, primers, and industrial coatings
  • Applying coatings using airless, HVLP, conventional spray, brush, or roller methods
  • Selecting proper pressures, nozzles, and application settings for each job
  • Ensuring correct coating thickness, coverage, and finish quality
  • Inspecting finished surfaces for defects such as runs, pinholes, or bare spots
  • Performing touch-ups and rework as needed to meet specifications
  • Maintaining and cleaning blasting and spray equipment, booths, and tools
  • Moving finished materials to inspection or shipping areas
  • Following safety protocols, ASHA standards, and 5S housekeeping practices
  • Supporting additional fabrication and production tasks as assigned
