About The Position

VetPowered is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician with hands-on experience servicing paint booths, air compressors, air handling systems, or industrial finishing equipment. This position will support onsite maintenance services at Nellis Air Force Base, maintaining industrial paint booths, media blasting equipment, breathing air systems, compressors, dryers, exhaust systems, and related equipment used in aircraft maintenance operations. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and documentation to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous equipment operation. It requires strong technical experience, sound judgment, the ability to work independently, and clear communication.

Requirements

  • Experienced industrial maintenance technician with a background in paint booths, spray finishing equipment, compressors, HVAC, air handling systems, or similar industrial equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience maintaining industrial paint booths, spray finishing equipment, air compressors, HVAC or air handling systems, or similar industrial equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and airflow systems.
  • Working knowledge of motors, fans, compressors, dryers, filters, regulators, electrical controls, and industrial ventilation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, maintenance schedules, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Ability to successfully complete the required background and access process for work at Nellis Air Force Base and provide all information needed for VetPowered to coordinate the required credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable under VetPowered’s insurance requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to changing customer priorities.
  • Ability to maintain a primary residence within the Las Vegas service area throughout employment in this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with OSHA breathing air requirements is a plus.
  • Experience working on a military installation or in a government environment is preferred.
  • Technical education, trade school training, or industry certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with OSHA breathing air requirements and Grade D air quality testing is a plus.
  • Experience working on or around military installations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on industrial paint booths, media blasters, air compressors, breathing air systems, air handling equipment, and related systems.
  • Respond to service calls and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC-related issues.
  • Complete repairs and adjustments to help maintain safe and reliable equipment operation.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection checklists, and maintenance documentation.
  • Support onsite response requirements, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday service when needed.
  • Inspect, service, and maintain industrial paint booths, media blast equipment, dust collection systems, compressors, dryers, air make-up units, exhaust fans, cooling systems, filtration equipment, breathing air systems, doors, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules, equipment manuals, and customer requirements.
  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust, and test mechanical and electrical components.
  • Identify worn, damaged, or failing parts and report recommended repairs.
  • Help maintain equipment in safe and reliable operating condition.
  • Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, HVAC, and airflow-related issues.
  • Perform repairs and adjustments in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot compressors, air dryers, air purification systems, fans, motors, filters, doors, lighting, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate required parts, materials, tools, and outside services.
  • Escalate significant equipment issues to VetPowered supervision.
  • Respond to scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency service requests.
  • Support after-hours, weekend, and holiday response requirements when needed.
  • Communicate with onsite customer representatives upon arrival and before leaving the work location.
  • Provide clear updates regarding work completed, equipment condition, and recommended next steps.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent VetPowered appropriately on customer sites.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection checklists, maintenance history, and repair documentation.
  • Record equipment findings, adjustments, replaced parts, and current operating condition.
  • Complete required reports and supporting documentation within established deadlines.
  • Assist with equipment inventories and maintenance schedules.
  • Document recommended repairs and parts requirements.
  • Support inspection and maintenance of breathing air compressors, purification systems, filters, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate quarterly OSHA Grade D breathing air testing.
  • Assist with sample collection when required.
  • Report testing issues or equipment deficiencies immediately.
  • Follow all applicable OSHA, environmental, customer, and Nellis Air Force Base safety requirements.
  • Use required personal protective equipment.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions.
  • Safely work around industrial machinery, compressed air, electrical systems, paint, solvents, and maintenance chemicals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Provide basic guidance to operators regarding equipment use and routine care.
  • Support internal teams with technical questions and troubleshooting.
  • Review equipment manuals, maintenance instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in customer or company training as required.
  • Support field and facility maintenance activities.
  • Deliver or pick up parts, materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Safely operate and maintain an assigned company vehicle.
  • Maintain assigned tools and equipment.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Safely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the department and company goals.
