About The Position

This role is responsible for the efficient execution of minor repairs on pallets, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. The primary focus will be on tasks such as nail removal, board replacement, and adding missing pieces to extend the lifespan and functionality of pallets. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work independently while adhering to established repair guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of hand and production tools such as pneumatic nail gun, or other relevant tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Previous experience in a production support or materials handling role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment
  • Basic understanding of quality control procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and remove damaged or protruding nails from pallets using appropriate tools.
  • Evaluate pallets to identify boards that are damaged, broken, or compromised.
  • Replace defective boards with new ones, ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity.
  • Identify and address any missing or loose pieces on pallets.
  • Use hand tools such as a pneumatic nail gun, hammer, etc. to attach or replace missing components to restore pallet functionality.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when handling and transporting lumber.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure repaired pallets meet quality and safety standards.
  • Report any issues or deviations from repair guidelines to supervisors.
