About The Position

Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry, a family-owned provider of specialty poultry, has an opening for a Plant Industrial Millwright out of our Yarrow location. We are looking for a skilled, motivated professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges in a fast-paced food processing environment. Requirements

  • Journeyperson Industrial Millwright certification (Red Seal preferred)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends on a rotation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food processing or manufacturing environments is an asset
  • Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and fabrication experience considered strong assets
  • Forklift experience is an asset
  • Any sort of food processing experience, forklift ticket, air ticket, WHMIS, food safe and first aid are all assets to this position but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced mechanical maintenance, repair, and overhaul of processing and packaging equipment
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex mechanical equipment failures and breakdowns
  • Install, align, modify, and commission new and existing equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including equipment hours, repairs completed, and parts used
  • Ensure all equipment operates safely and in compliance with food safety, employee safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Support equipment changeovers between species and production runs
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly facility and equipment inspections and work with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and uptime through modifications or process improvements
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance staff, operators, and supervisors as needed
  • Assist with equipment calibration, startup, shutdown, cleaning processes, and training where required
  • Assist maintenance team when available.
  • Any other duties assigned by Maintenance Manager
