About The Position

The Industrial Mechanic will safely and efficiently perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and all tasks related to the maintenance of all feed mill equipment and facility. This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining all aspects of the feed mill facility. The role involves constructing, maintaining, and testing mechanical equipment, machinery, and components, identifying parts or machines needing replacement, and utilizing shop mathematics to complete assignments. The mechanic will interpret drawings of equipment for proper adjustment, maintenance, or repair, and respond to production area requests when mechanical issues arise. Communication with production management and personnel is key for diagnosing problems. The role also includes performing preventive maintenance and completing assigned tasks accurately and efficiently, operating various types of lifts, and potentially performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Reading, General Math and Writing Skills.
Organized and able to multi-task.
Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of standard and metric measurements.
Minimum 1-2 years industrial maintenance experience.
Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment.
General knowledge of welding/fabrication.
General knowledge of both low and high voltage electrical.
Ability to work overtime including, holidays, nights, and weekend shifts.
At least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Willing and able to stand for several hours.
Ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc. with use of PPE.
Ability to work in elevated areas.
Ability to perform physical job duties including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice To Haves

General knowledge of boilers/steam systems.
General knowledge with programming technologies, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and variable frequency drives (VFD).
Technical school preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and all tasks related to the maintenance of all feed mill equipment and facility.
Repair and maintain all aspects of the feed mill facility.
Construct, maintain, and test mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.
Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments.
Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain, or repair machinery.
Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment have been identified.
Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problems.
Perform preventive maintenance.
Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regards to time as well as resources.
Operate fork lifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
Other duties as assigned.
