About The Position

Techo-Bloc is a leading manufacturer in high-end pavers and concrete landscaping products across North America. We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep our manufacturing equipment operating at peak performance. This role is all about troubleshooting, fixing issues fast, and preventing breakdowns before they happen. Techo-Bloc is on the hunt for their next industrial maintenance mechanic. Our technicians are highly proficient in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting and welding.

Requirements

  • 3 + years’ experience working in Heavy Industrial Maintenance.
  • Proficient with use of power tools, measuring devices, lathe and/or milling machinery
  • Previous experience using bearing heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts
  • Advanced stick welding and fabrication skills on heavy industrial equipment is mandatory.
  • Experienced soldering and plumbing
  • Experience with rigging, hoisting, and equipment installation
  • Experienced with precision alignment and fine adjustments
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if needed

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical certificates or equivalent experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and augers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pressure issues, large cylinders, proportional valves, sednoids & pumps
  • Stick welding in various positions, locations and various types of joints
  • Lead installation of new equipment and upgrades. Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems on fully automated production equipment.
  • Perform precision alignment using laser alignment tools, dial indicators, and other measuring devices
  • Test malfunctioning machinery, identifying parts needed and complete repairs
  • Repair, install and dismantle heavy industrial machinery and equipment according to plans which involves working at heights, climbing ladders and using mobile equipment (cranes, forklift, scissor lift, etc.).
  • Document and perform all preventative maintenance tasks as required to maintain equipment dependability.
  • Reference technical documentation, electrical schematics, equipment manuals and service instructions to complete work accurately
  • Execute Planned Maintenance (PM) activities to proactively prevent failures and promote safe and efficient operations
