About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, equipment, and facilities within a steel fabrication environment. This role ensures production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (motors, sensors, controls)
Welding and metal fabrication skills strongly preferred
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Experience with MS Office programs

Nice To Haves

Technical training or trade school preferred
Welding certification
Forklift or crane certification
Industrial maintenance certification
Experience with COAST maintenance software

Responsibilities

Perform routine preventive maintenance on fabrication equipment including CNC machines, presses, shears, brakes, saws, and material handling systems
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions
Assist with installation, setup, and relocation of machinery and equipment
Maintain welding machines, forklifts, cranes, and overhead hoists
Perform basic fabrication and welding repairs as needed
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documents
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs
