About The Position

To access all areas of the plant and grounds in order to accomplish assigned duties. This role involves actively pursuing and correcting problems with components and systems throughout the facility. The position requires a thorough knowledge of automated packaging machinery operation, troubleshooting, and repair, as well as pump theory, operation, and repair. Additionally, a strong understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic principles, application troubleshooting, and repair is necessary. The mechanic must be capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics and working safely with both low and high voltage circuits. Responsibilities include diagnosing electric motor, motor control, and device control problems, and troubleshooting and repairing electrical control and power circuits, including electrically controlled equipment such as PLC controlled and solid state equipment. Welding (gas and arc) and soldering skills are required, along with basic knowledge of typical facility and manufacturing support systems like steam, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration. Basic plumbing and carpentry skills are also needed. The role involves identifying and ordering parts and materials from manufacturers' manuals and prints, communicating oral and written instructions, and completing the Standard Timing Model mechanical test with a score of 60% or better. Ensures compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality, and facility cleanliness. Other duties as assigned.

  • Understand typical facility and manufacturing support systems including steam, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration systems
  • Perform basic plumbing and carpentry tasks
  • Identify and order parts and materials from manufacturers manuals and prints
  • Communicate both oral and written instructions
  • Complete the Standard Timing Model mechanical test with a score of 60% or better
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality and facility cleanliness
  • Produce product free of contamination
  • Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies
  • Report any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
  • Inspect work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis
