About The Position

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor that provides responsive, innovative solutions to increase plant production, reduce costs, and prevent shutdowns in industries such as petrochemical, refining, energy, and pulp and paper. We are seeking an Industrial Mechanic for a position in Hopewell, VA. The Mechanic maintains and repairs equipment and other industrial machinery, including conveying systems, production machinery, and packaging equipment. This is a non-exempt role that reports to a Direct Supervisor/Foreman. Assigned duties are performed according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Ability to diagnose and repair equipment
Good communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and work self-directed and alone at times
Technical training and/or industrial related industrial maintenance experience
Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Keep machinery in working order by detecting and correcting errors before the machine or the products it produces are damaged.
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various equipment.
Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
Prepare reports documenting work performed.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
