About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Industrial Mechanic III. In this role, the associate must have broad knowledge of safety procedures and execute them at all times. This position involves installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment and machinery with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum technical education: Graduated from a Technical Superior School / Vocational-Technical Course in Electronics or Electrician, or Industrial Mechanic Certificate (preferred). Course in PLC programming.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
  • Intermediate English level.
  • Knowledge in PLC programming.
  • Knowledge to read and interpret schematics and plans.
  • Knowledge related to quality, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Knowledge in Lean methodology processes and tools.
  • Operation of production machinery.
  • Knowledge in the operation and handling of instrumentation tools and circuits.
  • Knowledge in calibration (desired).
  • Knowledge in electronics.
  • Experience in mechanics.
  • Experience in preparation and adjustments of production machinery.
  • Ability to plan daily tasks and/or coordination.
  • Self-initiative.
  • Organization.
  • Constant focus on the safety of people and the plant.
  • Good interpersonal relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably a Certified Industrial Mechanic.
  • Course in PLC programming.
  • Knowledge in calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze machinery problems and determine solutions.
  • Install, repair, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical/electrical components of industrial equipment and machinery, following established timelines and schedules. Alert in a timely manner when situations arise that affect compliance.
  • Ensure equipment and its installation comply with applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate tasks with other mechanics and the supervisor.
  • Responsible for hazardous energy control (“Lockout / Tagout”), when required.
  • Interpret electrical, pneumatic plans, drawings, diagrams, and schematics of industrial equipment and machinery for troubleshooting and/or repair.
  • Identify necessary parts, tools, and materials for repairs or preventive maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Program PLCs for existing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot testers and work with external contractors in the repair process, if necessary.
  • Perform equipment and line movements (“layout”).
  • Repair industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, material carts, etc.).
  • Refer any external vendor needs for repairs to industrial equipment and machinery to the immediate supervisor.
  • Keep work areas clean and report unsafe conditions that may affect employee safety.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings to discuss operational and/or administrative aspects of the company.
  • Comply with the norms, policies, and procedures established by the Human Resources department and the company.
  • Ensure assigned preventive maintenance is carried out.
  • Ensure daily that all equipment, tools, or machinery are functioning correctly (e.g., Chillers, Compressors, Generators, etc.).
  • Perform assigned repairs.
  • Order materials for repair and preventive maintenance of equipment, if necessary.
  • Contribute to solving quality, productivity, and safety problems.
  • Execute tasks according to the plant's Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures; preventing environmental contamination, observing that safety rules are followed by yourself and others, correctly caring for and using safety equipment in required areas, and contributing ideas to improve everyone's health and safety in the plant.
  • Exercise function according to received training, including JSA (“Job Safety Analysis”).
  • Use and care for personal protective equipment.
  • Act and ensure your safety and that of your colleagues.
  • Report any unsafe condition to your supervisor and/or Safety Officer.
  • Be attentive to accident prevention in your work area.
  • Know and practice the plant's Safety Policy.
