About The Position

Installs, maintains, and repairs production equipment and minor plants facilities and support systems in a beverage production plant. This role involves visually inspecting and testing machinery, listening for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions, and discussing variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems. The technician will conduct basic electrical checks, dismantle defective machines, install new or repaired parts, and clean and lubricate machinery components. Responsibilities also include installing and repairing electrical apparatus, pipe systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, as well as repairing the physical structure of the establishment. The role requires operating machine tools, cutting torch, or welding equipment, and fabricating/repairing wooden structures. Additionally, the technician may perform duties of a Production Operator, wear appropriate safety equipment and company-provided uniforms, and follow other instructions as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Must provide own tools.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
  • Ability to perform basic functions of math in all units of measure and formats.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Conducts basic electrical checks on electrical components including continuity, fuses, and switches.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as motor, transformers, and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder and drill to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Performs duties of Production Operator as required.
  • Wears and utilizes appropriate safety equipment.
  • Wears Company provided uniform and required sanitation and safety devices as appropriate to comply with safety and sanitation standards for beverage production operations.
  • Follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon the request of his/her supervisor.
