About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and systems within a production environment. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The technician will collaborate closely with production teams to identify potential issues before they escalate, implementing preventive maintenance strategies. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and adhering to safety and quality standards. Ultimately, the Industrial Maintenance Technician contributes to the overall operational excellence and reliability of manufacturing processes. This is a 1st shift position with starting wage of $25.00 per hour, with adjustments based on individual skills. This is a 12 hour shift, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm working a 2:2:3 rotation (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days, off 2 days, work 2 days, off 3 days) .

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a production or manufacturing setting (corrugated/packaging experience is a plus).
  • Safety driven
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, electrical, and schematics.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and overhead work.
  • Work in environments with moving machinery, extreme temperatures (-20°F to 125°F), and at heights up to 38 feet.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Certification in industrial electrical systems, PLC programming, or hydraulics.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA and NFPA 70E.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Repair or replace defective components, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
