Industrial Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

Bird Dog Talent Consulting & Recruiting•Mullins, SC

About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and improve industrial manufacturing equipment and automated production systems at a manufacturing facility in startup and commissioning mode. The operation is expected to grow from two production lines to nine. This hands-on role supports equipment installation, startup, commissioning, production ramp-up, and ongoing reliability, with particular emphasis on motion-control systems and PLC-controlled machinery. The technician will diagnose problems across mechanical, electrical, and automation components; perform preventive maintenance and repairs; identify root causes of recurring failures; and recommend corrective actions and reliability improvements. The role will also help establish maintenance procedures, equipment documentation, and spare-parts requirements while working with production, engineering, equipment manufacturers, integrators, and technical support personnel. This is an active manufacturing startup environment requiring comfort with industrial equipment, changing priorities, and the challenges of bringing new production lines online. The successful candidate will help stabilize equipment, reduce downtime, support facility expansion, and contribute to effective maintenance practices.
