About The Position

This position will be responsible for multiple tasks relating to troubleshooting, repair, fabrication, and preventive maintenance of all facility equipment. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid. Tyson is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements

  • Application and/or resume must show a minimum of 6 months’ in one of the following areas: Mechanical troubleshooting, electrical/Electronic troubleshooting, Hydraulic Troubleshooting, PLC Troubleshooting and navigation, Welding/Fabrication, AC/DC Control Wiring, Motor Control, 3 Phase Wiring, Plumbing, Conveyor Maintenance, Hydraulics, or Pneumatic Systems
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
  • Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
  • Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
  • Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
  • Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
  • Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
  • Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
  • Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.
  • Ability to adhere to Tyson Foods' safety policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with all hourly team members and members of management in person and on the radio.
