About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The Maintenance Mechanic position has responsibilities to maintain, troubleshoot and repair a variety of electromechanical equipment in a food processing environment. This facility operates five days a week, with overtime potential, and produces Bacon and Bacon Toppings. Leveling (pay) is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience. There is potential to progress quickly within levels based on completed training and demonstrated skills on the job. We have open positions for second and third shift.

Requirements

  • Current Maintenance Team Members or Production Team Members: Must have completed 90-day probationary period
  • Have less than four (4) attendance points
  • No written warnings for job performance in the previous six (6) months
  • Current production Team Members who have completed 30 days of employment but less than 90-day probation: Must have less than two (2) attendance points
  • No written warnings for job performance
  • All internal candidates must document their mechanical or HVAC experience within their application.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
  • Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience, special training, and formal education in a mechanical capacity is preferred for this outlined position.
  • The position requires strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Must perform troubleshooting and repair, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation
  • Must be able to understand technical and training manuals
  • Handle and distribute cleaning chemicals and record data
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
  • Requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters, such as basic electrical, electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication and manufacturing processes
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
  • Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
