About The Position

Join Tyson Foods as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, where you can make a meaningful impact by contributing to the production of quality food products in a safe environment. This role offers advancement opportunities and great benefits. The facility operates five days a week with potential for overtime, specializing in Bacon and Bacon Toppings. Pay leveling is determined during the interview based on skillset, knowledge, and experience, with potential for quick progression through training and demonstrated skills. Open positions are available for second and third shifts. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets, ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to Tyson policies and procedures. This includes maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of electromechanical equipment within a food processing environment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in multiple skill clusters, such as basic electrical, electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication and manufacturing processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willing and able to push/pull/lift up to 75 pounds
  • Willing and able to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, and reach
  • Willing and able to climb up and down stairs and ladders
  • Current Maintenance Team Members or Production Team Members must have completed 90-day probationary period
  • Current Maintenance Team Members or Production Team Members must have less than four (4) attendance points
  • Current Maintenance Team Members or Production Team Members must have no written warnings for job performance in the previous six (6) months
  • Current production Team Members who have completed 30 days of employment but less than 90-day probation must have less than two (2) attendance points
  • Current production Team Members who have completed 30 days of employment but less than 90-day probation must have no written warnings for job performance
  • All internal candidates must document their mechanical or HVAC experience within their application
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience, special training, and formal education in a mechanical capacity is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and repair, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation
  • Understand technical and training manuals
  • Handle and distribute cleaning chemicals and record data
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
  • Perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
