About The Position

Nico Products is seeking an experienced Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair the manufacturing equipment that keeps their production lines running safely and efficiently. This is not a building maintenance or facilities maintenance position. The role involves diagnosing problems, repairing equipment, and understanding how things work, directly impacting the company's ability to process products for industries such as medical, aerospace, defense, industrial, and commercial. The company will provide training on their specific equipment, processes, and industry, but they are looking for individuals with inherent reliability, mechanical aptitude, critical thinking, a willingness to learn, and pride in quality work. The company aims to hire individuals looking to build a career rather than just find their next job. Candidates should be comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment with heat, humidity, dust, noise, and moving equipment, and understand the importance of dependable attendance. Personal mobile devices are secured during working hours and can only be accessed during scheduled breaks in designated areas due to customer and security requirements. In-person interviews are conducted in Minnesota.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial, manufacturing, production maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or similar experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to read an analog clock and tape measure.
  • Basic math and geometry skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Dependable attendance.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to participate in an in-person interview in Minnesota.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school, maintenance certification, military mechanical experience, or related trade experience.
  • Welding experience.
  • Has or willing to achieve a boilers license.
  • Experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, multi-meters, and common maintenance hand tools.
  • Experience using computers, tablets, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, welding, and basic carpentry issues.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and safely restore production as quickly as possible.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify potential problems before failures occur.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Install, modify, and commission production equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance records, repair documentation, and spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with production employees to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
