About The Position

Penn Wood Products, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Industrial Maintenance Technician. The individual is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery, consisting of mechanical and electrical equipment. This role involves industrial machinery upkeep, working alone or with a crew. The individual must be well-rounded and able to perform efficient work on a variety of equipment, executing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance. This is not a machine operator position.

Requirements

Must have maintenance experience.
Experience with Industrial maintenance required.
Corrective/breakdown experience preferred.
Working knowledge of industrial equipment, its usage, and safety procedures.
Self-motivated, responsible and Safety Oriented individual.
Learns and applies standard tools and techniques to solve problems.
Demonstrates a positive "can-do" attitude.
Takes responsibility for self-performance (Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently).
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results and meeting expectations.
Must be able to navigate various areas consisting of uneven terrain, climbing stairs, ladders, and working at heights.
Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to lift objects up to 60 pounds.
Must be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Mechatronics and Electrical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements on equipment and tools including motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions and complies with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring tools.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and alignment equipment.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
Optimizes maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Wears common protective clothing and uses proper safety equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
