About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to perform maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment located within a water, wastewater, pump & lift stations and treatment facilities working under direct supervision of the Industrial Tech. Maintenance staff. This role assists the Industrial Technician Maintenance staff in their daily work schedule, which may include attending pre-construction meetings, recommending changes in water/wastewater facilities mechanical systems, troubleshooting problems and recommending corrective actions based on skilled knowledge of mechanical repair practices, and performing preventative maintenance and corrective repair work on water/wastewater facilities and equipment. The role also involves fabricating and machining repair parts for equipment, welding steel, brass and aluminum, operating lathes, mill/drill presses, welders and various other metal working power and hand tools, and locating leaks and detecting defects in water/wastewater equipment and machinery according to established plans and standards. Additionally, the position monitors, reviews and validates work practices for quality control of processes and to ensure adherence to safety standards, and inputs and gathers data from the Supervisory Control Data Acquisition system (SCADA) and runs reports as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience in construction, maintenance, electrical, electronics, process control wastewater monitoring, and/or compliance activities
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
