About The Position

The Mushroom Company is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician specializing in slicer and dicer equipment and welding. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, sharpening, rebuilding, and repairing slicers, dicers, and related production equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong welding and mechanical skills, experience working with blade systems, and the ability to troubleshoot industrial machinery safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Welding experience required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and thermal scanners.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, Spanish, or both.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, and climb stairs.
  • Ability to work for extended periods in hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to safely work in noisy areas and around industrial equipment.
  • Ability to use hands and arms for detailed mechanical work.
  • Must be willing to use all required personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Two to five years of industrial maintenance or similar experience preferred.
  • Experience maintaining slicers, dicers, blades, or food-production equipment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with variable frequency drives (VFDs) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair slicers, dicers, and related equipment.
  • Sharpen and replace blades as needed.
  • Rebuild slicer and dicer heads, including bearings, shafts, and fingers.
  • Weld and repair equipment frames, housings, and other components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on conveyors, motors, pumps, and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and replace motors.
  • Assist with the installation and setup of new machinery.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory.
  • Work closely with Production to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Identify safety hazards and report concerns to management.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
  • Assist with general Industrial Maintenance Technician duties as assigned.
  • Learn proper startup and shutdown procedures for the ammonia and boiler systems.
