About The Position

3M is seeking a Full-time Industrial Maintenance Technician – Multi-craft Electrical in Cottage Grove, MN. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As an Industrial Maintenance Technician – Multi-craft Electrical, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, calibrating, and making adjustments to electrical, electronic, and pneumatic process control systems and devices used in production, laboratory, office and utility areas. Calibrating, and making adjustments to heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and climate control systems used in production, laboratory, office, and utility areas. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs repairs. Responds to shop work orders in an efficient and safe manner. Implements and improves preventive maintenance procedures. Determines parts, tools, and supplies necessary for the jobs. Documents work activities in the work order CMMS Willingness to learn and expand technical skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year associate's degree in the electrical maintenance field, or graduate from an approved apprenticeship program.
  • Five years of experience in the electrical maintenance/troubleshooting of industrial processing equipment.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and pass Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
  • Ability to read and interpret measurement instruments to better troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other people.
  • Ability and desire to work as a multi-skilled electrical craftsperson.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting issues with processing equipment and resolving them by implementing appropriate repairs.
  • Experience in field instrumentation including process sensors and control devices.
  • Experience in Programmable Logic Controllers, AC & DC drive controls, and pneumatic, analog and digital electronics, including computer/microprocessor-based control systems.
  • Current State of Minnesota Journeyman Electrician's License or a Master Electrician's License.
