About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician III for their 1st shift operations. This electro-mechanical position involves supporting manufacturing operations, adjusting and repairing equipment, and managing spare parts. The role requires diagnosing and repairing complex electro-mechanical and electrical control circuit issues, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting PLC systems. The technician will also be involved in completing electrical projects, maintaining pneumatic systems, and training junior technicians. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
  • Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality
  • Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
  • Ability to assist in Training Level I Technicians
  • Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
  • Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
  • Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ability to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime as required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
  • Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition
  • Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
  • Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
  • Troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
  • Complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
  • Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
  • Monitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
  • Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QA
  • Train new and Level 1 mechanics in more complex tasks and skills
