About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician III for their 2nd shift operations. This role involves diagnosing and repairing complex electro-mechanical problems on manufacturing equipment, performing detailed equipment setups, and maintaining mechanical components. The technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits, PLC inputs and outputs, and pneumatic systems. Additionally, the role includes performing preventative maintenance, managing spare parts, adjusting equipment based on quality data, and training other technicians. This position also involves direct supervision of reports and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in related field, or equivalent relative experience
  • 7-10 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
  • Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality.
  • Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems
  • Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
  • Ability to train all levels of Technicians
  • Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
  • Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
  • Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ability to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
  • Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition
  • Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
  • Troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
  • Complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
  • Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
  • Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
  • Monitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
  • Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QA
  • Train all levels of technicians in more complex tasks and skills
  • Responsible for direct reports activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
