About The Position

Clean Harbors Deer Park is searching for a safety-minded individual with millwright/boilermaker experience to learn and grow with their safety-conscious team. This Facility Maintenance Repair II (Maintenance Technician) will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repairs on equipment throughout the facility. This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Pay, schedule, and testing requirements are governed by the union contract. The work schedule consists of rotating shifts, including 4 day shifts/4 off (on-call) followed by 4 night shifts/4 off (off-call), supporting a 24/7/365 operation, which includes weekends and federal holidays. The wage is $37.82/HR, with potential for additional earnings through overtime and other benefits outlined in the CBA. Pre-employment requirements include passing the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test and a 1G or 3G Welding Pre-Qualification Test.

Requirements

  • Passing Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test – required
  • Passing 1G (flat) or 3G (vertical) Welding Pre-Qualification Test – required
  • 3-5+ years of millwright and/or boilermaker type experience – required
  • Hydraulics system troubleshooting repair – required
  • Must understand schematics and troubleshoot mechanical equipment plant systems (conveyors, pumps, elevators, etc.) – required
  • Experience operating a cutting torch (propylene) for metal cutting and demolition – required
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including movements such as lifting, bending, climbing, and the manipulating and handling of objects – required
  • HS Diploma or equivalent - required
  • Valid driver’s license – required

Nice To Haves

  • JLG Manlift or ariel lift experience - preferred
  • 18-ton crane picker operator experience - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and re-assembling parts as necessary
  • Testing mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications
  • Working with computer instrumentation to perform diagnostic and execute work order
  • Other duties as assigned
