About The Position

The Maintenance Worker position, under limited supervision, performs work of routine difficulty maintenance. This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance on building interior and exterior, repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The position requires a high degree of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • 3 years of Industrial mechanical or related experience in packing machines/production machines.
  • Successful completion of skills testing and mechanical aptitude test.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Math skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analyzing, planning and troubleshooting skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Excel proficiency.
  • Previous experience with a CMMS system.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all Safety policies and procedures, maintains a hazard-free work area, uses Personal Protective Equipment as required, attends all Safety training, notifies teammates of compromised Safe Operating Procedures, reports near misses/accidents/injuries, completes Safety Work Orders, participates in Safety initiatives, reports unsafe conditions and behaviors, and never takes shortcuts that compromise safety.
  • Adheres to all Food Safety/Quality SOP’s, accurately completes required Food Safety & Quality records, communicates any known or suspected Food Safety/Quality issues, and attends all Food Safety/Quality training sessions.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Repairs, installs, and maintains machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments.
  • Performs moderately difficult work in two or more trades, such as electrician, carpenter, machinist, millwright, painter, mason, etc. This position is typically semiskilled in several trades.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
  • Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
  • Complies with OSHA safety and health rules.
  • Maintains adequate parts inventory.
  • Monitors and coordinates outside contracting.
  • Engages in continuous improvement planning.
  • Acts as safety champions.
  • Completes Purchase Orders (P.O.’s) for replacement items.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work area, machinery, tools & equipment.
  • Communicates any sanitation issues to the Process Manager.
  • Maintains an inspection-ready status at all times.
  • Accurately enters all information into EAM (Enterprise Asset Management).
  • Accurately uses CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) system.
  • Accurately completes and maintains PM (Preventive Maintenance) records.
  • Accurately completes and maintains Emergency Repair records.
  • Accurately completes and maintains all SQF (Safe Quality Food) documentation.
  • Completes and maintains all other Safety, Quality and Maintenance forms and records as required.
